तेन पूर्वं पिताऽस्माकं पृष्टो दुर्वाससा द्विजाः । मंत्रवादकृते यच्च शृणुध्वं सुसमाहिताः
tena pūrvaṃ pitā'smākaṃ pṛṣṭo durvāsasā dvijāḥ | maṃtravādakṛte yacca śṛṇudhvaṃ susamāhitāḥ
Sebelumnya, wahai para brāhmaṇa, ayah kami pernah ditanya oleh Durvāsā tentang laku sādhanā ilmu mantra. Dengarkan ucapannya dengan batin yang terpusat.
