Skanda Purana — Nagara Khanda, Shloka 32

बुद्धिर्हि द्विविधा देहे देया ग्राह्या विशुद्धिदा । संसारविषया त्याज्या परब्रह्मणि सा शुभा

buddhirhi dvividhā dehe deyā grāhyā viśuddhidā | saṃsāraviṣayā tyājyā parabrahmaṇi sā śubhā

Dalam keadaan berjasad, buddhi itu dua macam: yang patut ditinggalkan dan yang patut diterima—yang diterima memberi penyucian. Buddhi yang terpaut pada urusan dunia hendaknya ditinggalkan; yang bersemayam pada Parabrahman itulah yang suci dan membawa berkah.
