यथा पूर्वं महाभाग वदोपायं लघूत्तमम् । एकाहिकेन श्राद्धेन येनास्माकं हि शाश्वती । प्रीतिः संजायते देव त्वत्प्रसादात्सुरेश्वर
yathā pūrvaṃ mahābhāga vadopāyaṃ laghūttamam | ekāhikena śrāddhena yenāsmākaṃ hi śāśvatī | prītiḥ saṃjāyate deva tvatprasādātsureśvara
Seperti dahulu, wahai Mahābhāga, katakanlah upaya yang terbaik dan paling sederhana—agar melalui śrāddha satu hari timbul kepuasan abadi bagi kami, wahai Dewa, wahai Penguasa para Deva, berkat anugerah-Mu.
Pitṛs (addressing Brahmā)
Type: kshetra
Scene: Pitṛs request the ‘best easy method’; Brahmā, radiant and compassionate, prepares to reveal a concise śrāddha ordinance; symbolic items (tila, kuśa, piṇḍa, water) appear arranged neatly, suggesting simplicity and completeness.
Dharma adapts with compassion: even a simplified rite, done rightly, can secure lasting ancestral satisfaction.
No specific tīrtha is named; the verse focuses on an upāya (method) for śrāddha.
Ekāhika-śrāddha—performing a one-day śrāddha as an effective remedy for sustaining Pitṛ-prīti.
