Skanda (deduced; continuing phala of Sāvitrī-japa)
Tirtha: Chamatkārapura (contextual)
Type: kshetra
Listener: viprāḥ (addressed)
Scene: A visual progression: 10, 100, 1000 beads/lamps; dark smoke-like ‘pāpa’ dissolving into light as the mantra radiance expands across cosmic time (yuga imagery).
Disciplined repetition of sacred mantra functions as purification (prāyaścitta), progressively erasing sins of different temporal depths.
The same tīrtha context of Sāvitrī worship in Nāgarakhaṇḍa Adhyāya 192, where japa is being praised.
Counting-based Sāvitrī japa: ten, hundred, and thousand recitations are described with corresponding purificatory results.
