विपंचीं वादयन्स्वैरं दृष्टः स मुनिसत्तमः । अजानंत्या च तानानां विशेषं मूर्च्छनोद्भवम् । मया स हसितोऽतीव तानभंगतया गतः
vipaṃcīṃ vādayansvairaṃ dṛṣṭaḥ sa munisattamaḥ | ajānaṃtyā ca tānānāṃ viśeṣaṃ mūrcchanodbhavam | mayā sa hasito'tīva tānabhaṃgatayā gataḥ
“Aku melihat sang resi termulia itu sedang memainkan vipaṃcī dengan bebas. Karena tidak memahami perbedaan halus nada-nada yang lahir dari mūrchana (modulasi yang tepat), aku tertawa terbahak, mengira nadanya ‘patah’.”
