Scene: A circle of sages seated on kuśa grass under trees, addressing Sūta with folded hands; in the background, a map-like suggestion of multiple tīrthas; the mood is inquisitive and reverent.
It frames tīrtha-yātrā as a disciplined search for the most efficacious sacred place, where practice yields palpable spiritual results.
The sages are inquiring; the specific siddhi-giving tīrtha is answered in subsequent verses.
Snāna (bathing) is highlighted as the means through which siddhi may arise.
