मासं मासं प्रति सदा शांता दांता जितेंद्रियाः । ततो मासा वसानेऽन्ये चक्रुस्तच्छांतिकं द्विजाः
māsaṃ māsaṃ prati sadā śāṃtā dāṃtā jiteṃdriyāḥ | tato māsā vasāne'nye cakrustacchāṃtikaṃ dvijāḥ
Bulan demi bulan, senantiasa tenang, terkendali, dan menaklukkan indria, para brāhmaṇa melaksanakan śānti yang sama; lalu pada akhir bulan, brāhmaṇa lainnya pun melakukan śānti itu pula.
