Type: sangam
Scene: At the Triveṇī-saṅgama in Māgha: countless pilgrims bathe as luminous streams of ‘tīrtha-śakti’ symbolically flow in from all directions; the Sun in Makara shines above, and the confluence glows like a mandala.
Prayāga is proclaimed as uniquely powerful: at an auspicious time it embodies the merit of all tīrthas, encouraging pilgrimage and sacred bathing with faith.
Prayāga (the great confluence-tīrtha), presented as the gathering-place of all tīrthas during Māgha.
The verse points to Māgha observance—especially the period when the Sun is in Makara—implying the high merit of snāna (sacred bathing) at Prayāga then.
