kiṃtu pūrvaṃ tapastaptvā revayā bahvanehasam | varadānonmukho dhātā prārthitaśceti sattama
Namun terlebih dahulu, wahai yang terbaik di antara orang saleh, Reva (Narmadā) menjalani tapa-pertapaan sangat lama; kemudian Dhātā, Brahmā Sang Pencipta yang berkenan menganugerahkan karunia, didekati dan dipanjatkan permohonan.
