महादेवेति तैरुक्तं यन्मनोरथपूरणात । वाराणस्यां महादेवस्तदारभ्याभवच्च यत्
mahādeveti tairuktaṃ yanmanorathapūraṇāta | vārāṇasyāṃ mahādevastadārabhyābhavacca yat
Karena memenuhi segala harapan hati mereka, mereka menamainya “Mahādeva”. Dan sejak saat itu, di Vārāṇasī Ia pun tegak termasyhur sebagai Mahādeva.
