Skanda Purana — Kashi Khanda, Shloka 110

पूजयित्वा पशुपतिमुपोषणपरायणाः । पशुपाशैर्न बध्यंते दर्शे विहितपारणाः

pūjayitvā paśupatimupoṣaṇaparāyaṇāḥ | paśupāśairna badhyaṃte darśe vihitapāraṇāḥ

Mereka yang memuja Paśupati dan tekun dalam upavāsa (puasa suci) tidak terbelenggu oleh pāśa, ikatan yang mengikat makhluk. Dengan melakukan pāraṇa sesuai vidhi pada hari Darśa (bulan baru), mereka terbebas dari belenggu Paśupati.
