त्वदाननप्रतिनिधिर्विधुर्विधुरया मया । उदित्वरोपिनालोकि तापं वै त्यक्तुकामया

tvadānanapratinidhirvidhurvidhurayā mayā | uditvaropināloki tāpaṃ vai tyaktukāmayā

Aku, yang terhimpit oleh perpisahan, memandang bulan—seakan pengganti wajahmu—saat ia terbit, dengan hasrat sungguh-sungguh menanggalkan duka yang membakar.
