Type: ghat
Listener: Ṛṣis
Scene: Twilight Pradoṣa at a Śiva shrine: devotees offer bilva leaves and lamps to a liṅga; the moon’s thirteenth-day phase hinted; Mahādeva’s presence felt as a towering, tranquil force.
Sacred times (kāla) matter in dharma; focused worship of Mahādeva at Pradoṣa is taught as especially efficacious.
No particular tīrtha is mentioned; the verse glorifies a sacred time-observance (Pradoṣa) centered on Śiva.
Pradoṣa is defined as the evening of Trayodaśī, and Mahādeva-śiva-pūjā is prescribed at that time for seekers of phala.
