अतीतं वर्तमानं च स्मरामि च सृजाम्यहम् । तैर्विना चाहमेकस्तु मूकोऽधो जडवत्सदा
atītaṃ vartamānaṃ ca smarāmi ca sṛjāmyaham | tairvinā cāhamekastu mūko'dho jaḍavatsadā
Aku mengingat masa lampau dan masa kini, dan aku pun menampakkan ciptaan. Namun tanpa itu (Weda), aku seorang diri menjadi senantiasa bisu, merosot, dan beku—laksana yang tak berakal.
