किमर्थं कम्पते शैलः किमर्थं कम्पते धरा । किमर्थं कम्पते नागो मर्त्यः पातालमेव च । किं वा युगक्षयो देव तन्ममाख्यातुमर्हसि
kimarthaṃ kampate śailaḥ kimarthaṃ kampate dharā | kimarthaṃ kampate nāgo martyaḥ pātālameva ca | kiṃ vā yugakṣayo deva tanmamākhyātumarhasi
“Mengapa gunung ini berguncang? Mengapa bumi bergetar? Mengapa para Nāga, manusia fana, bahkan Pātāla pun turut gemetar? Ataukah ini akhir suatu yuga, wahai Dewa? Mohon jelaskan kepadaku.”
