सर्वसत्त्वोपकाराय बृहते पुण्यलक्षणा । रेवानदी तु विख्याता न मृता तेन नर्मदा
sarvasattvopakārāya bṛhate puṇyalakṣaṇā | revānadī tu vikhyātā na mṛtā tena narmadā
Demi kesejahteraan semua makhluk, agung dan bertanda kesucian, sungai ini termasyhur sebagai Revā. Ia ‘tidak mati’—maka sebab itu ia disebut Narmadā.
