प्रवृत्तिः सर्वशास्त्राणां पुराणस्याभवत्ततः । कालेनाग्रहणं दृष्ट्वा पुराणस्य ततो मुनिः
pravṛttiḥ sarvaśāstrāṇāṃ purāṇasyābhavattataḥ | kālenāgrahaṇaṃ dṛṣṭvā purāṇasya tato muniḥ
Dari Purāṇa itulah gerak dan perkembangan semua śāstra lainnya bermula. Lalu sang resi, melihat bahwa seiring waktu Purāṇa tidak lagi dipegang dan dipahami dengan benar, mengambil langkah untuk melestarikannya.
