पञ्चावरणमार्गस्थं योगेश्वरस्तोत्रम्
Pañcāvaraṇa-mārga Stotra to Yogeśvara Śiva

Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Paśupatinātha
Sthala Purana: Not a Jyotirliṅga passage; the verse functions as a doxology to the guru-paramparā beginning with Śveta and culminating in Nakulīśa, presenting lineage as the vehicle of Śiva’s grace (anugraha) through dīkṣā and upadeśa.
Significance: Frames pilgrimage as ‘approach to the living tīrtha’ of the guru-lineage; merit accrues by honoring the paramparā that transmits Śiva-vidyā.
Role: teaching
It exalts the sanctity of the Shaiva guru-paramparā: liberation-oriented knowledge and right practice are preserved through an authentic lineage, and honoring that lineage is treated as a primary spiritual duty.
By affirming the authority of the deśika (initiating teacher), the verse implies that proper Linga-worship and Saguna Shiva devotion are to be learned and performed as transmitted by the Shaiva lineage, ensuring ritual and inner contemplation align with Shiva’s intent.
Reverence to the guru and adherence to received Shaiva practice—especially mantra-dīkṣā and disciplined japa/meditation as taught in the lineage—are the implied takeaways.
