Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Sthala Purana: Ritual-maṇḍala continuation: assigns Viṣṇu’s emblems/weapons to directions for worship, typical of āvaraṇa-devatā and āyudha-pūjā within a larger liturgy.
Offering: pushpa
It teaches ordered, direction-based worship (dik-krama) where sacred powers are honored in their proper places, supporting inner steadiness and ritual purity—preparing the devotee for Shiva-oriented contemplation and liberation.
In Shaiva Siddhanta, Saguna worship uses forms, directions, and consecrated symbols to steady the mind; honoring allied divine emblems (here, Nārāyaṇa’s weapon, conch, and bow) can be part of a larger Shiva rite that culminates in Linga-centered devotion and realization of Pati (Shiva).
A directional placement/worship practice: consecrate the southern quarter with the Nārāyaṇa astra, the western with Pāñcajanya, and the northern with Śārṅga—akin to mandala arrangement and protective nyāsa before deeper mantra-japa (such as the Panchakshara).
