Puraścaraṇa and the Discipline of the Mantra-Sādhaka
इत्थं भक्त्या शिवं शैवो यः साधयति साधकः । तस्येहामुत्र दुष्प्रापं न किंचिदपि विद्यते
itthaṃ bhaktyā śivaṃ śaivo yaḥ sādhayati sādhakaḥ | tasyehāmutra duṣprāpaṃ na kiṃcidapi vidyate
Demikianlah, seorang sādhaka Śaiva yang dengan bhakti menyempurnakan sādhana kepada Śiva—baginya di dunia ini maupun di alam sana tidak ada sesuatu pun yang sukar dicapai.

Significance: General phalaśruti: steadfast bhakti-sādhana to Śiva removes the category of 'duṣprāpya' (hard-to-attain) both iha and amutra; read as assurance of Śiva’s anugraha rather than a site-specific promise.
It declares the supremacy of Śiva-bhakti: when the sādhaka truly fulfills devotion-centered sādhana toward Pati (Śiva), divine grace removes inner bondage and makes both worldly well-being and higher attainment (up to liberation) accessible.
The verse supports Saguna upāsanā as an effective means: by devoted practice of Śiva-worship—commonly expressed through Liṅga-pūjā, mantra, and service—the devotee ‘accomplishes’ Śiva, meaning he gains Śiva’s closeness and grace, which yields results here and hereafter.
The takeaway is steady bhakti-driven sādhana: daily Śiva-pūjā (often Liṅga worship) with mantra-japa such as the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” supported by Śaiva markers like bhasma (tripuṇḍra) and rudrākṣa where appropriate.
