atha caivaṃ karomīti labdhānujñastu deśikaḥ | ānīyopoṣitaṃ śiṣyaṃ haviṣyāśinameva vā
Lalu sang deśika, setelah memperoleh izin dan bertekad, “Demikian akan kulakukan,” hendaknya membawa ke hadapan murid yang menjalani puasa—atau setidaknya yang hanya menyantap havis (santapan persembahan suci).

Upavāsa (religious fasting) or a havishyanna-style diet (havis-only) is prescribed as a preparatory observance, supporting mantra practice and ritual readiness for Shaiva worship and possible diksha.
