Account of the Birth/Origin of Vyāsa
महिमानं न ते वेदा विदामासुरुमापते । त्वमेव जगतः कर्ता धर्ता हर्ता तथैव च
mahimānaṃ na te vedā vidāmāsurumāpate | tvameva jagataḥ kartā dhartā hartā tathaiva ca
Wahai Umāpati, bahkan Weda pun belum sepenuhnya mengetahui kemuliaan-Mu. Engkaulah pencipta, pemelihara, dan pelebur alam semesta.

It affirms Śiva as Pati—the Supreme Lord whose majesty transcends complete conceptual capture, even by the Vedas—while also declaring His sovereignty over creation, maintenance, and dissolution, guiding the devotee toward surrender and liberation.
By stating that Shiva’s greatness is beyond full description, the verse supports Linga worship as a sacred, accessible focus for Saguna devotion, through which devotees approach the transcendent (Nirguna) reality of Shiva.
Meditate on Shiva as kartā-dhartā-hartā while repeating the Panchakshara mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” and reinforce devotion with Shaiva marks like Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and Rudrāksha as aids to steady remembrance.
