Genealogy of Svāyambhuva Manu and the Dhruva Episode

Cosmic Event: kalpa (implied ongoing creation/population cycle)
It frames cosmic diversity—devas, asuras, and other beings—as arising within creation, while Shaiva Siddhanta points beyond such births to Pati (Shiva), the liberator who grants moksha to the bound soul (pashu) entangled in pasha.
By showing that all classes of beings populate the worlds, the verse implies the universality of Shiva’s lordship; Linga-worship centers on Pati who transcends and governs all lineages, offering grace that is not limited by one’s deva/asura identity.
A practical takeaway is to seek liberation beyond birth-status through daily Panchakshara japa (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with Shaiva marks such as Tripundra (bhasma) and devotion to the Linga, cultivating detachment from worldly identity.
