शिवस्तुतिवर्णनम् (Śiva-stuti-varṇanam) — “Description of Hymns in Praise of Śiva”
Suta Goswami (narrating to the sages at Naimisharanya)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Significance: Models śaraṇāgati (taking refuge): the devas’ single-pointed fixation on Maheśvara is presented as the immediate means to receive His protective grace in crisis.
Type: stotra
It highlights ekāgratā (one-pointedness): even the Devas gain steadiness and protection by fixing the mind on Maheshvara, affirming Shiva as Pati—the supreme refuge and inner Lord in Shaiva Siddhanta.
“Fixing the mind on Maheshvara” supports Saguna-upāsanā: devotees concentrate on Shiva as worshipful Lord—often through the Shiva Linga as a concrete focus—until the mind becomes absorbed in His grace and presence.
Practice dhyāna with japa—especially the Panchakshara “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—keeping the mind steadily anchored in Shiva; this is also aligned with Mahashivratri worship and inner recollection of Maheshvara.
