Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Significance: Defines a bhakti-sādhana: śravaṇa/śrāvaṇa (listening/causing recitation) with śuci-vrata, promising iha-sukha and ante paramasukha—read in Siddhānta as gradual ripening toward Śiva’s anugraha and mukti.
Type: stotra
It is a phalaśruti declaring that devoted śravaṇa (listening) and śrāvaṇa (making others hear) of Shiva’s sacred narrative purifies the seeker, grants well-being in worldly life, and culminates in para-sukha—liberation-oriented supreme bliss under Shiva’s grace.
The verse emphasizes devotion expressed through hearing and recitation of Shiva’s līlā and teachings—key supports of Saguna worship—by which the mind becomes fit for steady bhakti and reverence toward the Linga as Shiva’s accessible, grace-bestowing form.
Regular devotional listening/recitation of the Shiva Purana (pāraṇa), ideally with purity of conduct (śuci-vrata), as a simple sādhana; it may be paired with japa of “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” to deepen the fruit of śravaṇa.
