Dengan sukacita ia memuji Śiva, Tuhan Berwujud Delapan. Dengan mata berbunga oleh bahagia dan berdiri teguh, ia menaruh anjali di atas kepala lalu berseru, “Jaya! Jaya!”
Suta Goswami (narrating to the sages at Naimisharanya)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Īśāna
Mantra: jaya jaya
Type: stotra
Offering: pushpa
It depicts bhakti expressed as humility and surrender: praising Śiva as Aṣṭatanū (the cosmic Lord of multiple manifestations), offering añjali at the crown, and affirming divine supremacy through “jaya-jaya,” which steadies the mind in devotion.
The verse reflects Saguna-upāsanā: the devotee approaches Śiva with visible, personal reverence—praise (stuti), folded hands, and acclamation—mirroring how devotees worship the Liṅga with outward gestures that carry inward surrender to Pati (the Lord).
Practice stuti with añjali-mudrā (hands folded) raised to the head, and repeat a victory-acclamation like “jaya jaya Śivāya” as japa; it can be paired with Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) for focused devotion.
