शिवतत्त्ववर्णनम् (Śiva-tattva-varṇana) — “Description/Exposition of the Principle of Śiva”
Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Mahādeva
Sthala Purana: General darśana motif: ‘Behold Me as Mahādeva and abandon fear’—a template for pilgrimage darśana, but not tied to a named jyotirliṅga here.
Significance: Darśana of Mahādeva removes fear (bhaya-nivṛtti) and stabilizes devotion—anugraha as immediate fruit.
Type: stotra
Role: liberating
Cosmic Event: Transition from concealment (tirodhāna as fear/limitation) to grace (anugraha as fearlessness) through direct vision of Pati.
The verse teaches that Shiva’s grace is drawn by bhakti, and that true “darshan” of Mahadeva bestows fearlessness—an inner sign of surrender to Pati (Shiva) and loosening of pasha (bondage).
Shiva invites the devotees to “behold” Him as Mahadeva, aligning with Saguna upasana—such as Linga worship—where focused vision and reverence culminate in Shiva’s protective grace and removal of fear.
Practice bhakti-based darshan: worship the Shiva Linga with steady attention, repeat the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), and meditate on Shiva as Mahadeva while consciously releasing fear into His presence.
