नारदतपोवर्णनम्
Nārada’s Austerities Described
विष्णुरुवाच । कुत आगम्यते तात किमर्थमिह चागतः । धन्यस्त्वं मुनिशार्दूल तीर्थोऽहं तु तवागमात्
viṣṇuruvāca | kuta āgamyate tāta kimarthamiha cāgataḥ | dhanyastvaṃ muniśārdūla tīrtho'haṃ tu tavāgamāt
Viṣṇu bersabda: “Wahai anakku, dari mana engkau datang dan untuk tujuan apa engkau tiba di sini? O harimau di antara para resi, engkau sungguh berbahagia; oleh kedatanganmu tempat ini menjadi tīrtha bagiku.”

Significance: The verse frames saintly presence (sat-saṅga) as itself a tīrtha-making power—pilgrimage becomes efficacious through contact with realized devotees.
FAQs
It teaches that the presence of a realized sage sanctifies a place and elevates the seeker; in Shaiva understanding, such satsanga becomes a doorway (tīrtha) toward Shiva-oriented purity and liberation.
Though the verse is spoken by Viṣṇu, it supports the Purāṇic principle that holy contact and reverence prepare the mind for Saguna Shiva worship—approaching the Liṅga with humility, purity, and devotion.
