Sukta 8.27
वयं तद्वः सम्राज आ वृणीमहे पुत्रो न बहुपाय्यम् । अश्याम तदादित्या जुह्वतो हविर्येन वस्योऽनशामहै ॥
vayáṃ tád vaḥ samrā́ja ā́ vṛṇīmahe putró ná bahu-pā́yyam | aśyā́ma tád ādityā́ júhvato havír yéna vásyo ’náśāmahai ||
Dari kalianlah kami memilih, wahai kuasa-kuasa yang berdaulat, sebagaimana seorang putra memilih pertolongan yang banyak melindungi. Semoga kami meraihnya, wahai Āditya, melalui persembahan yang kami tuangkan—dengannya semoga kami turut memperoleh kebaikan yang lebih luhur dan lebih bercahaya.
