Rishi: Vasiṣṭha (Vasiṣṭha-gotra tradition for Maṇḍala 7; hymn to Bṛhaspati/Brāhmaṇaspati)

आ दैव्या वृणीमहेऽवांसि बृहस्पतिर्नो मह आ सखायः । यथा भवेम मीळ्हुषे अनागा यो नो दाता परावतः पितेव ॥

ā daivyā́ vṛṇīmahe’vā́ṃsi bṛ́haspátir no mahá ā́ sakhāyaḥ | yáthā bhávema mīḷhúṣe ánāgā yó no dātā́ parāvátaḥ pitā́iva ||

Kami memilih dan memanggil pertolongan ilahi itu kepada kami; semoga Bṛhaspati, Sahabat kami yang agung, mendekat—agar kami menjadi tanpa cela di hadapan Sang Pemberi yang dermawan, Dia yang menganugerahkan kepada kami dari kejauhan sana, laksana seorang ayah.
