आ चष्ट आसां पाथो नदीनां वरुण उग्रः सहस्रचक्षाः ॥

ā́ caṣṭa āsā́ṃ pā́tho nadī́nāṃ váruṇa ugráḥ sahásracakṣāḥ

Varuṇa, yang garang dalam penjagaan, bermata seribu, memandang jalan-jalan sungai-sungai ini—ia mengawasi aliran daya-daya yang mengalir di dunia dan di dalam diri kita.
