Sukta 1.71
अग्निं विश्वा अभि पृक्षः सचन्ते समुद्रं न स्रवतः सप्त यह्वीः । न जामिभिर्वि चिकिते वयो नो विदा देवेषु प्रमतिं चिकित्वान् ॥
agníṃ víśvā abhí pṛ́kṣaḥ sacante samudráṃ ná sravátaḥ saptá yahvī́ḥ | ná jāmíbhir ví cikite váyo no vidā́ devéṣu prámatíṃ cikitvān ||
Segala pemeliharaan menekan dan melekat pada Agni, sebagaimana tujuh arus perkasa mengalir ke samudra. Bukan oleh kekerabatan kebiasaan ia menakar daya-hidup kita; Sang Mengetahui menemukan bagi kita arah-batin yang tepat di antara para dewa.
