Sukta 1.17

Rishi: Kakṣīvant Dairghatamasa (traditionally for RV 1.17)
Devata: Indra-Varuṇa (dual)
Chandas: Triṣṭubh (probable for RV 1.17; verse-form consistent with the hymn)

युवाकु हि शचीनां युवाकु सुमतीनाम् । भूयाम वाजदाव्नाम् ॥

yuvā́ku hi śacī́nāṃ yuvā́ku su-matī́nām | bhū́yāma vāja-dā́vnām ||

Sebab kalian adalah daya muda dari śacī (kemanjuran-kemanjuran), kalian adalah daya muda dari sumatī (kebijaksanaan terang yang benar). Semoga kami makin menjadi mereka yang menerima kepenuhan-kepenuhan vāja (daya-kekuatan).
