Sarga 93: Rāvaṇa’s Grief and Fury after Indrajit’s Fall; Move to Slay Vaidehī and Ministerial Restraint
मैथिलींरूपसम्पन्नांप्रत्यवेक्षस्वपार्थिव ।।।।तस्मिन्नेवसहास्माभिराहेवक्रोधमुत्सृज ।
maithilīṃ rūpasampannāṃ pratyavekṣasva pārthiva |
tasminn eva sahāsmābhir āhave krodham utsṛja || 6.93.65 ||
Wahai raja, pandanglah Maithilī yang dianugerahi keelokan dan kesempurnaan rupa. Di medan perang ini juga, bersama kami, arahkanlah amarahmu hanya kepada dia (Rāma).
"O King! Mythili is endowed with charm. Your anger may be exhibited on Rama in battle (not Sita)'."
Force must be ethically directed: a ruler’s wrath belongs on the battlefield against an armed opponent, not upon a captive woman.
Suparśva redirects Rāvaṇa’s rage away from Sītā and toward confronting Rāma in open war.
Kṣatriya propriety: courage and justice expressed as facing one’s enemy directly.
