Narrator (describing the mother’s instruction to Vena)

Concept: Because one’s elders know dharma-tattva, one should practice dharma; continual instruction is itself a protective rite for the future ruler.

Application: Seek counsel from principled elders/teachers; build habits through repetition—daily reminders shape character more than occasional lectures.

Primary Rasa: shanta

Secondary Rasa: vira

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"A virtuous mother stands beside a seated child-prince, pointing toward an elder’s portrait or a palm-leaf śāstra, indicating the father as a knower of dharma-tattva. The child listens with folded hands, while attendants hold a parasol and a manuscript, suggesting the future weight of kingship.","primary_figures":["virtuous mother (Dharmasutā)","young Vena","symbolic presence of the father (portrait/figure in background)"],"setting":"palace teaching hall with manuscript stand, dharma-śāstra scrolls, and a small altar","lighting_mood":"golden dawn","color_palette":["warm gold","ivory","royal blue","vermilion","leaf green"],"tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting style: palace instruction tableau, mother gesturing toward dharma-śāstra and the father’s honored presence, gold leaf halos, rich vermilion backdrop, heavy ornaments, embossed lotus borders, conch-disc motifs subtly integrated.","pahari_prompt":"Pahari miniature style: refined court interior at dawn, delicate manuscript details, soft blues and ivories, lyrical mother-son interaction, subtle architectural arches, calm didactic mood.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural style: bold outlines, stylized manuscripts and pillars, mother’s instructive mudra, warm pigment palette, sacred authority conveyed through large eyes and symmetrical composition.","pichwai_prompt":"Pichwai cloth painting style: central mother-son scene framed by floral borders and lotus creepers, small Viṣṇu shrine behind, peacocks near manuscript stand, deep blue ground with gold accents emphasizing dharma’s sanctity."}

Audio Atmosphere: {"recitation_mood":"narrative","suggested_raga":"Bhupali","pace":"moderate-narrative","voice_tone":"authoritative","sound_elements":["tanpura drone","soft mridangam pulse","palace courtyard birds","distant temple bell"]}

Sandhi Resolution Notes:

FAQs

Vena is being instructed to practice dharma, based on the authority of his father who knows the principles of dharma.

Moral formation requires consistent guidance: a virtuous guardian repeatedly reminds the child to align conduct with dharma.

It frames dharma not as mere custom but as a discerned truth (tattva), grounding the advice in principled understanding rather than convenience.
