The verse highlights dharmic protection (rakṣā) as a legitimate prayoga—using sacred sound and rite to restore safety, remove fear, and uphold social order for householders and communities.
While not directly a bhakti-stuti, it reflects bhakti in practice: reliance on sacred means (mantra/rite) with faith for protection, treating safety and fear-removal as offerings aligned with divine order.
It points to applied prayoga—technical deployment of mantra for specific outcomes (traveler’s return, fort protection, child-safety, anti-theft fear removal), a hallmark of auxiliary ritual sciences discussed in Book 1.3.
