Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
It functions as a phalaśruti, declaring that attentive hearing or recitation of the preceding sacred teaching yields extraordinary merit—equated here with the famed Aśvamedha—thereby encouraging śravaṇa (listening) and pāṭha (recitation) as potent dharmic acts.
By elevating sincere, concentrated engagement with sacred narration (hearing/reciting) as highly meritorious, it supports a bhakti-friendly model where inner attentiveness (susamāhita) and reverent reception of scripture become central practices, not only external ritual performance.
It highlights disciplined pāṭha (correct recitation/reading) and the mental requirement of samāhita-citta (focused attention), aligning with practical concerns of Śikṣā (proper recitation) and the broader scriptural culture of preserving and transmitting sacred texts.
