Narada Purana — Purva Bhaga, Shloka 86

Gṛhastha-nitya-karman: Śauca, Sandhyā-vidhi, Pañca-yajña, and Āśrama-krama

भवेत्रिषवणस्नायी नखश्मश्रुजटाधरः । अधः शायी ब्रह्मचारी पञ्चयज्ञपरायणः ॥ ८६ ॥

bhavetriṣavaṇasnāyī nakhaśmaśrujaṭādharaḥ | adhaḥ śāyī brahmacārī pañcayajñaparāyaṇaḥ || 86 ||

Ia hendaknya mandi pada tiga waktu sandhyā, membiarkan kuku, rambut, dan janggut tanpa dipangkas serta mengenakan jaṭā. Ia tidur di tanah, hidup sebagai brahmacārī, dan tekun pada pañca-yajña.
