FAQs

It teaches that dāna becomes supremely potent when offered to an adhikārī recipient—here, a Brahmin established in Brahman-knowledge—yielding the rare fruit of attaining Brahmaloka (Brahmā’s abode).

While the verse is framed as dāna (charity), it reflects bhakti’s inner principle: offering with reverence to the spiritually realized (brahmavid) purifies the giver and aligns the act with sacred intent rather than mere social giving.

It highlights dharma-śāstric discernment used in ritual giving—proper recipient (pātra) selection and the prescribed form of gift (go-dāna of a payasvinī cow), which are key practical rules in Vedic ritual culture.
