तद्बायवीयनुदितं भागद्वयसमन्वितम् । सर्गादिलक्षणं यत्र प्रोक्तं विप्र सविस्तरम् ॥ ३ ॥
tadbāyavīyanuditaṃ bhāgadvayasamanvitam | sargādilakṣaṇaṃ yatra proktaṃ vipra savistaram || 3 ||
Wahai brāhmaṇa, Purāṇa yang diproklamasikan dalam tradisi Vāyavīya itu terdiri dari dua bagian; di dalamnya ciri-ciri seperti sarga (penciptaan) dan seterusnya dijelaskan dengan rinci.
