FAQs

It venerates Rudra/Śiva through hallmark epithets—cremation-ground dwelling, hide-clad asceticism, and the Moon on his head—pointing to renunciation, transcendence over death, and the Lord’s sovereignty over time and dissolution.

The verse models bhakti through direct namaskāra (salutation) and remembrance of divine attributes (nāma–rūpa–guṇa-smaraṇa), a core devotional practice used to steady the mind in reverence and surrender.

Primarily Vyākaraṇa/Chandas usage is implicit: the verse employs devotional epithets in vocative/dative constructions (e.g., -ine, -ase, -āya) typical of stotra diction; it is not a technical exposition of Jyotiṣa, Kalpa, or other Vedāṅgas.
