FAQs

It presents a phala-śruti: the promised spiritual result is not merely worldly fulfillment but the highest end—attaining brahmapada, i.e., liberation—after the fruit of the observance is gained.

By linking the promised “fruit” of a sacred observance to brahmapada, it reflects the Purāṇic principle that properly performed devotional/ritual acts culminate in the supreme goal, not just temporary boons.

It implicitly uses Jyotiṣa (Vedāṅga astronomy/astrology) through lunar timing—specifying the appearance of the bālendu (waxing young moon) in the bright fortnight as an auspicious marker for the result.
