Adhyaya 35 — Madālasa’s Instruction on Purity, Impurity, and Corrective Rites (Śauca and Aśauca)
अभोज्यं सूतिका-षण्ढ-मार्जाराखुश्वकुक्कुटान् । पतिताविद्धचण्डाल-मृतहारांश्च धर्मवित् ॥
abhojyaṃ sūtikā-ṣaṇḍha-mārjārākhu-śva-kukkuṭān / patitāviddha-caṇḍāla-mṛtahārāṃś ca dharmavit
Seorang yang mengetahui dharma hendaknya menganggap tidak layak dimakan makanan yang terkait dengan perempuan dalam kenajisan pasca-melahirkan, orang impoten, kucing, tikus, anjing, dan ayam jantan; demikian pula makanan yang terkait dengan orang jatuh (patita), yang berstatus tercemar, seorang caṇḍāla, dan mereka yang hidup dari mengusung mayat.
