Prācī-diś Tīrtha-kathana
तुड्गकारण्यमासाद्य ब्रह्मचारी जितेन्द्रिय: । वेदानध्यापयत् तत्र ऋषि: सारस्वत: पुरा,तुंगकारण्यमें जाकर ब्रह्मचर्यका पालन करते हुए इन्द्रियोंकों अपने वशमें रखे। प्राचीनकालमें वहाँ सारस्वत ऋषिने अन्य ऋषियोंको वेदोंका अध्ययन कराया था
Tuṅgakāraṇyam āsādya brahmacārī jitendriyaḥ | Vedān adhyāpayat tatra ṛṣiḥ sārasvataḥ purā ||
Setibanya di hutan Tuṅga, ia hidup sebagai brahmacārin, menaklukkan indria dan memeliharanya dalam kendali. Pada masa lampau, di sana resi Sārasvata mengajarkan Weda kepada para resi lainnya.
पुलस्त्य उवाच
The verse highlights brahmacarya and mastery over the senses as the ethical foundation for preserving and transmitting sacred knowledge; disciplined living enables reliable teaching and continuity of dharma.
Pulastya describes a sacred forest setting (Tuṅgakāraṇya) where, in ancient times, the sage Sārasvata lived with strict self-control and taught the Vedas to other sages, establishing the place as a center of learning.
