Bhīmasena’s Discourse on Kāla, Resolve, and the Feasibility of Ajñātavāsa (भीमसेनस्य कालोपदेशः)
वरुणं च कुबेरं च धर्मराजं च पाण्डव । शक्तो होष सुरान् द्रष्टं तपसा विक्रमेण च,“जिसे तुमसे पाकर महाबाहु अर्जुन अपना सब कार्य सिद्ध करेंगे। पाण्डुनन्दन! ये अर्जुन दिव्यास्त्रोंकी प्राप्तिके लिये देवराज इन्द्र, रुद्र, वरुण, कुबेर तथा धर्मराजके पास जायँँ। ये अपनी तपस्या और पराक्रमसे देवताओंको प्रत्यक्ष देखनेमें समर्थ होंगे
varuṇaṃ ca kuberaṃ ca dharmarājaṃ ca pāṇḍava | śakto hoṣ surān draṣṭuṃ tapasā vikrameṇa ca ||
Wahai Pāṇḍava, dengan kekuatan tapa dan keberanianmu engkau akan sanggup menyaksikan para dewa—Varuṇa, Kubera, dan Dharmarāja—secara langsung.
व्यास उवाच
Spiritual attainment and worldly success are shown as complementary when grounded in dharma: disciplined austerity (tapas) and courageous effort (vikrama) together make one fit to receive divine aid and higher powers, not mere desire or entitlement.
Vyāsa foretells and encourages the Pāṇḍava that Arjuna will be able to directly behold major deities—Varuṇa, Kubera, and Dharmarāja—through his tapas and valor, as part of his quest to obtain divine weapons needed for the larger conflict.
