Dharma-śaṅkā-nivāraṇa: Yudhiṣṭhira’s Response on Karma-Phala and Trust in Dharma

Yudhiṣṭhira frames success (siddhi) not as private gain but as shared honour: an achievement by one becomes a moral and social credit for the whole fraternity, emphasizing collective responsibility and humility in accomplishment.
In the forest-exile setting of the Vana Parva, Yudhiṣṭhira encourages a companion by saying that even if only the intended task succeeds, that success itself will be a source of prestige—not only for the doer but also for Bhīma, Arjuna, and the twin brothers Nakula and Sahadeva.
