Educational Q&A

The verse underscores steadfast adherence to one’s prescribed duties (nitya-karma): completing the forenoon rites promptly and offering into the sacred fire with firm resolve, treating the present moment as decisive for dharma.

In Mārkaṇḍeya’s narration, a person—believing that the awaited day has arrived—quickly completes the morning/forenoon ritual obligations and makes offerings into a blazing sacrificial fire soon after sunrise.
