Educational Q&A

The verse highlights dharmic conduct in a royal household: humility, proper protocol, and reverence toward one’s father/elder. The gestures—bowing at the feet and standing with folded hands—model self-restraint and respect as ethical virtues.

A maiden approaches her father (the king), first conveys her preliminary submission/request, bows at his feet, and then stands beside him with folded hands, awaiting his response in a composed and respectful manner.
