Skanda–Mātṛgaṇa-janma: Kumārakāḥ, Kanyāgaṇāḥ, and the Vīrāṣṭaka (स्कन्द-मातृगण-सम्भवः)

धर्मात्माओंमें श्रेष्ठ तात युधिष्ठिर! तुमने जो प्रश्न किया था, उसके अनुसार मैंने ये सब बातें कह सुनायीं ।। पतिव्रताया माहात्म्य॑ ब्राह्मणस्य च सत्तम । मातापित्रोश्व शुश्रूषा धर्मव्याधेन कीर्तिता,साधुश्रेष्ठट पतिव्रताका माहात्म्य और धर्मव्याथके द्वारा ब्राह्मणसे कही हुई माता- पिताकी सेवा आदिकी बातें बता दीं

mārkaṇḍeya uvāca | dharmātmāsu śreṣṭha tāta yudhiṣṭhira! tvaṁ yat praśnaṁ kṛtavān, tad-anusāreṇa mayā etāḥ sarvāḥ kathāḥ kathitāḥ || pativratāyā māhātmyaṁ brāhmaṇasya ca sattama | mātā-pitroś ca śuśrūṣā dharma-vyādhena kīrtitā ||

Mārkaṇḍeya berkata: “Wahai Yudhiṣṭhira, yang terbaik di antara orang-orang saleh, anakku! Sesuai dengan pertanyaanmu, semuanya telah kuceritakan. Wahai brahmana terbaik, telah kujelaskan kemuliaan seorang istri yang setia pada dharmanya, dan juga bakti melayani ayah-ibu—sebagaimana dipuji oleh pemburu yang saleh.”
