Righteousness and spiritual excellence are recognized not only by human society but symbolically by the cosmos itself: spontaneous auspicious signs (flowers and heavenly drums) indicate divine assent and the moral weight of the event being described.
Mārkaṇḍeya narrates that the gods honor the central figure of the episode by showering celestial flowers from all directions, while divine drums sound on their own—marking a climactic, celebratory moment with unmistakable heavenly endorsement.
